Notes from the President

At the April meeting the nominating committee will present the proposed slate of candidates for election in May. Nominations may be made from the floor at that time, then nominations will be closed for the elections at the May 14 meeting.

On a sad note we have lost another of our life members. Lois Brandt, wife of past president Dave Brandt, passed away on March 27. Lois was always one of the first people to volunteer to help whenever it was needed and made many contributions to the club over the years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Congratulations to all the winners in our recent club judging, especially to Best of Show winner Jerry Wanty for his Diamond grape wine. Check out the web site for the complete list with 20 first place awards going to 11 wine makers and at least one wine maker collecting a total of 14 awards. Thanks to Don Betlej and Howard Hasselkus for coordinating the event and to everyone who helped to make it a successful day.
