Pick your own grapes - Club Members, Jim Wirshing-Neuser & CJ, are up and running for beer and winemaking supplies with their winery permit soon to follow allowing them to be open for Uvin and wine sales by the taste, glass and bottle. It's located midway between Beaver Dam and Portage and they have a "pick-your-own" operation. (7/30/08) Wine Press for sale - Large wine wine press for sale. Ideal for any fruit. "Compression section about the size of a bushel basket" is the best way I can describe it. Stainless steel strainer with a copper outside to hold in the juice. Sorry I don't have a photo right now. $120.00 Stands about 4 feet high. It is a pick what you need for a batch of wine or jam. I have an abundance of Elderberries, Red Currents and this year some Josta berries, which are a cross between a gooseberry and a black current. First come, first serve. I'll get in touch with the responding people as the berries ripen. Give me a call at 414-571-9110. James Remus (7/15/08) Pick your own cherries - Thursday, July 10 was beginning picking for early (light) Montmorency cherries. The dark, sour cherries will be ready to pick around Saturday, July19. Orchard hours will be from 7 AM to 6 PM daily. Please bring containers or freezer bags to transport your fruit home in. We will provide picking containers in the Orchard.
