This year the Wisconsin Vintners
Association will celebrate 40 years of improving the skills and
knowledge of wine and winemaking of its members and doing it in a
setting of fun social events. Plans have been in the works for
a very special June membership meeting scheduled for Saturday, June
19th at the Country Springs Hotel located in Pewaukee, WI.
The election of officers was held at our May 12th meeting. Please join me in congratulating the Board of Directors for 2010/2011:
2010 WI State Fair Competition This year’s WI State Fair Amateur Winemaking Competition took place on Friday and Saturday, May 14 and 15. There were 310 entries this year. Congratulations to all who have won awards this year and to club members Len Montalbano, Howard Hasselkus and Jerry Horzewski who also took Category Best of Show honors. Thanks to all who helped. With the aid of our WVA members we were able to conduct a very professional event that we and the State Fair should be proud of. The results are now posted on our WI State Fair page. Please see an upcoming WVA Vintners Press for interesting facts about this year’s competition.
